Constraint-based modeling of metabolic networks with CellNetAnalyzer and CNApy: Module 2 - Advanced topics
Date: 19 November 2026 @ 14:00 - 18:00
Timezone: Brussels
Educators:
Steffen Klamt, Axel von Kamp, Pavlos Bekiaris (de.NBI-SysBio)
Date:
19-Nov-2026 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm (CEST / UTC +1)
Location:
Online
Contents:
Building upon the CellNetAnalyzer/CNApy introductory course, this course addresses advanced topics and methods of constraint-based modeling of metabolic networks coupled with live demonstrations and hands-on exercises with the MATLAB package CellNetAnalyzer (CNA) and its Python-variant CNApy.
• Phase planes and Yield spaces
• Minimal cut sets and computational design of metabolic networks
• Enzyme-constrained metabolic models
• COBRA-k: Constrained-based modeling with kinetic rate laws
• Associated live demos and hands-on exercises with CNA and CNApy
• Q&A session on advanced topics
Learning Goals:
• The participants will get familiar with advances topics of constraints-based modeling and metabolic design and learn how to employ related functionalities within CellNetAnalyzer and CNApy.
• Hands-on exercises with CellNetAnalyzer and CNApy will enable the participants to routinely use these techniques in their work.
Prerequisites:
None, but for beginners it could be advantageous to first attend the related introductory course on basic principles of constraints-based modeling and CNA/CNApy (hold two weeks prior to this course).
